Abhyanga Massage

A gentle practice to nurture, ground, and restore.

Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic oil massage, a ritual that nourishes the body, calms the mind, and reconnects you with your own rhythm. Warm sesame or herb-infused oils flow over muscles, joints, and tissues, carrying relaxation, vitality, and a deep sense of comfort.

Why try Abhyanga?

  • Brings calm to an overactive mind
  • Reduces tension and stiffness
  • Improves circulation and lymphatic flow
  • Supports detoxification and sleep
  • Nourishes skin and joints
*The Essence of Abhyanga:

In Ayurveda, Abhyanga does more than nourish the body — it balances the Vata energy, the wind of the body and mind. When applied with warmth and rhythm, the oils glide through your tissues, calming the nervous system, opening the channels of circulation, and creating a sense of spaciousness and ease. Each stroke becomes a meditation in motion: a chance to slow down, feel your senses, and reconnect with the present moment. Even outside the massage room, this practice teaches us a valuable lesson — life flows best when we nurture ourselves gently and consistently. Small acts of care, a warm shower, a mindful stretch, or simply noticing your breath, echo the same principle: your body is your home, and honoring it daily invites balance, calm, and vitality into every moment.

Optional Self-Practice:
Even a few minutes at home, using warm oil with slow, mindful strokes, can bring grounding and ease. Let your breath guide your touch, and notice the subtle sense of being present in your body.

Contraindications:
Abhyanga is deeply nourishing, but it is not recommended in certain situations:

  • Fever, acute infections, or inflammation
  • Skin rashes or open wounds
  • Immediately after heavy meals or alcohol consumption
  • Severe circulatory issues or uncontrolled hypertension (consult your healthcare provider first)

A full Abhyanga session, however, is a deeper experience — a moment to pause, to be seen by your own body, and to feel the energy of presence and care flowing through you.
